Fairy Lights at Seaside

As you are probably aware Combe Martin Parish Council is in the process of selling the redundant Parade public toilet building, currently the power supply and controls to all of the decorative ‘Fairy’ lights on the seafront are housed in there. We have to remove our controls etc from that power supply so that the purchaser has their own independent supply. Between the 25th and 27th October 2017 we are having a new supply installed into an electrical cabinet sited in the car park that is above the building.
As the Parish Council intend to replace the decorative lighting, which is no longer fit for purpose, we are not going to spend money on rewiring all of the old controls back in, only to change it all again when the new LED lighting is fitted, so the decorative lighting will be turned off till further notice.

Fund raising for the new lights is well under way and grants have been applied for, if you would like to make a donation please contact me [email protected]

Hollands Park to be flood lit for Emergency Helicopter Landing

*** Current total – £3111.09 ex VAT – Target achieved ***

Excellent news, well done Doug!

Many thanks to everyone who has donated to the Air Ambulance Landing Lights Fund, the latest being the Ilfracombe Lions who presented a pledge of £1,111.09 at our Parish Council meeting on Monday. Thank you to Steve Ashton, the president and John Forsdike for attending, also in the picture Peter James Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Doug Seymour and District Councillor Andrea Davis who had previously arranged a donation of £1000, many thanks to everyone who has donated.

Combe Martin Parish Council, Hollands Park Football Club and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) have been working together to get the football pitch to become a designated landing site for the DAA in times of emergency. A fundraising appeal is underway to try and raise at least £3,111.09 (ex VAT) to go with a grant of £3,442.37 (ex VAT) to flood light the pitch, the lights would be operated off-site and even by the pilots themselves as they get closer.

Councillor Doug Seymour is heading up the charity fundraiser and can be contacted on the details listed below

*** Current total, if all monetary pledges are honoured and if we get a good income from the brass band concert and Tesco raffle we would have the total of £3733.31 inc VAT which would mean we have the total monies required – as of 21st September 2017 *** (will keep this updated with any further news as and when we get it)

*** Current total is at £1422.50 – as of Today 19th September 2017 ***

There is an information pack available through Doug from the DAAT.
