Minutes of the Combe Martin Parish Council meeting held 

on 28th February 2022 at 7pm at Combe Martin Community Centre. 

 

Present: Cllrs. T Seldon (Chair), S Coomber (Vice Chair), S Boyce, C Galloway, D Hatherley,  

M Richards, P Walker, R Watkins, D Woodbury, and M Worth. 

Also in attendance: District Cllr. Y Gubb, Andrew Wyer (Clerk) and 4 members of the public. 

 

54/22. Apologies. 

Apologies were received and accepted from Cllr. Daukes.  

 

55/22. Declarations of Interest. 

Cllr. Watkins declared a personal interest in Planning Application 74622. 

There were no requests for dispensations. 

 

56/22. Public Participation Period. 

There were no questions raised. 

 

57/22. Minutes. 

Cllr. Woodbury requested that minute 48/22 be amended to say “It was agreed to consider to underwrite the costs…” 

It was RESOLVED to approve and sign the amended minutes for the Parish Council meeting held on Monday 14th February 2022. 

 

58/22. Planning. 

 

Cllr. Watkins left the room. 

 

74622 – It was RESOLVED to support the application for planning permission for change of use (Commercial (former bank) to create residential extension) at The Bank House, High Street, Combe Martin, EX34 0EB. Grid Ref: 258576; 146539 

Applicant: Mr. & Mrs. Watkins 

 

Cllr. Watkins returned to room. 

 

74542 – It was RESOLVED to support the application for planning permission for the conversion of outbuilding to residential unit at Pack Of Cards, High Street, Combe Martin, EX34 0ET. Grid Ref: 258336; 146720 

Applicant: Batchelor 

 

59/22. Committee Membership.  

After a vote, it was RESOLVED that Cllrs. Coomber, Daukes, Galloway, Hatherley, Seldon, Watkins and Worth would sit on the Assets and Land Management Committee. It was further RESOLVED that Cllr. Walker would sit on the Finance & Policy Committee. 

 

60/22. Greenhill Steps. 

It was RESOLVED that the Council would open up and clear the pathway down to the beach, complete any necessary fence work and install a suitable safety gate. 

 

61/22. Part 2. 

It was RESOLVED that the public and press should be excluded from the meeting for the next item. 

 

62/22. Lease. 

It was RESOLVED to approve the signing of an Assured Shorthold Tenancy for a flat in Ebberleigh House if the Council insurance policy included suitable cover.   

 

63/22. Date for future meeting. 

It was confirmed that the dates for the next Council meeting would be 14th March.
