Draft minutes of the Assets and Land Management Committee meeting held
on 27th February 2023 at 6:00pm at Combe Martin Community Centre.
Present: Cllrs. Galloway (Chairman), Everett, Richards, Watkins and Worth.
Also in attendance: Andrew Wyer (Clerk) and 0 members of the public.
ALM/01/23 Apologies
There were no apologies.
ALM/02/23 Declarations of Interest
There were no declarations of interest.
ALM/03/23 Public Participation Period
There were no questions.
ALM/04/22 Minutes
It was RESOLVED to approve, as an accurate record, the minutes of the last ALM Committee meeting, held 27/02/2023, and these were then signed as such.
ALM/05/23 Ongoing Projects
a. Hollands Park Wall – on hold as complete except for laying the hedge. The local residents to be consulted in January about this.
b. Beach Steps – These should be done in the next week or so, tides depending.
c. Streetlight Replacement – 8-week lead time, so November likely. No official confirmation of date despite numerous requests.
d. Workman’s Shed – Application for new shed to be submitted w/c 2nd Oct. Draft Plan being created.
e. Kiln Car Park Toilets – The NDC lead on this project has left and I’m waiting for the new lead to make contact.
ALM/06/23 Part 2
It was resolved to exclude the public and press from the following item as it would likely include the disclosure of confidential information.
ALM/07/22 Property Leases
a. Bobbies Bakes – Lease all signed, and utilities all switched.
b. Combe Martin Football Club – Recommend to Council that it accepts the lease proposals in Confidential Report 1.
c. Arches Wedding Venue – Draft lease prepared but yet to be seen and checked. The Clerk was asked to contact the Wedding Venue and ask them to make further efforts to stop the use of certain types of confetti.
d. Seacott Office – Local carpenter to be contacted to see if the front windows can be saved/repaired.
